How does BCOP allocate available properties?

BCOP allocates housing based on need, assessed via your application form. If you are eligible but no properties are currently available, you will be placed on our waiting list. Your position on the waiting list is determined by the needs assessment, not by the date you applied.

Points system for needs assessment

Points are awarded based on evidence in your application across several categories:

• Homelessness
• Disrepair of current housing
• Lack of exclusive-use amenities
• Medical need
• Social need
• Financial need
• Subject to sexual or racial harassment
• Moving from institutional care or specialist accommodation
• Under-occupation (per undeclared bedroom)
• Time on waiting list
