BCOP’s sheltered living schemes offer more than just a place to live. For people aged 60 and over (or 55+ with a disability), they’re a safe, affordable and friendly place to call home, where you can continue living independently, with support available when you need it.
We know how important it is to feel in control of your own life, without the worry of managing everything alone. That’s why our four supported living schemes across Birmingham are designed to give you space, freedom and peace of mind, with a real sense of community.
Our properties are a mix of one-bedroom flats and bungalows, each with a private lounge, kitchen, and bathroom with shower (no baths). Some sites also include communal spaces such as lounges, kitchens, laundry rooms and gardens, where tenants can relax and take part in optional activities.
Every tenant has their own front door, the freedom to come and go as they please, and the security of knowing help is available.
Our friendly Tenant Support Officers (TSOs) work with each resident to develop an individual support plan. Whether it’s help filling in a housing benefit form, advice about a food bank, or just a listening ear, they’re here to help in a way that respects your independence.
Our support tools are designed to identify actions that will help you stay independent, prevent loneliness and ensure you live the best life you can, for as long as possible.
Repairs and maintenance you can rely on.
No more chasing landlords or waiting for contractors. BCOP’s own qualified maintenance team takes care of day-to-day repairs and looks after the communal areas, making sure everything is safe, clean and comfortable.
As a social housing landlord, BCOP is part of the Housing Ombudsman Scheme, offering fair, independent processes for handling complaints and feedback. We also keep tenants up to date with regular newsletters, and share clear safety advice through easy-to-read tenant leaflets.
How we allocate housing
Our homes are allocated based on need, not application date. We consider your health, housing, financial and social circumstances, and if we don’t have availability straight away, we’ll add you to our waiting list and keep you informed.
