People who work in social care are highly-skilled, passionate and hard-working . It’s important that we all take time to recognise the important work that people do and the impact this has in supporting older people to live their lives however they choose.
That’s why at BCOP we’re joining in on #CelebratingSocialCare this month.
We have very dedicated teams who work in 3 care homes and who support older people to live as independently as possible in our Supported living and Independent living accommodation here in Birmingham. As well as employing ‘frontline’ nurses and care workers, there are a host of others who work hard ‘behind the scenes’ . These roles include property maintenance, chefs, managers, cleaning and management jobs such as HR, finance and fundraising. Many of our staff choose to undertake additional training and move into more senior roles within BCOP. Recently family member commented that “care and compassion are paramount to us, and my dad gets that in abundance”.
In April we’re #CelebratingSocialCare by sharing social media posts about the activities that are enjoyed by all our residents.
We also want to share some of the great work and recent achievements of our team, many of whom were recognised for their amazing dedication earlier this year with BCOP long service awards. You can read more here about our events at Robert Harvey House and at Neville Williams House.
