Welcome to BCOP

Broadening Choices for Older People
Supporting older people in the West Midlands since 1946

We are BCOP, a Birmingham based registered charity and social landlord, founded in 1946, dedicated to enriching the lives of older people. We provide high quality nursing care across three purpose built homes: Anita Stone Court, Neville Williams House and Robert Harvey House. Our services include long term care, short term stays, day care and respite support.

We also offer affordable housing schemes tailored for those over 60, or over 55 with disabilities, with independent and supported living options. Each housing scheme includes on site support, maintenance and facilities designed to encourage wellbeing and independence.

We go beyond standard care to create safe, stimulating environments for older people.

Our nursing homes

Welcoming new residents
Purpose-built nursing homes in Birmingham

Each of our homes are designed to provide high quality, person-centred care in a warm and welcoming environment. Anita Stone Court in Moseley offers modern, comfortable accommodation with a focus on supporting older people with complex nursing needs. Neville Williams House in Selly Park provides specialist care with a homely atmosphere, including facilities for long term and respite stays. Robert Harvey House in Handsworth Wood delivers compassionate nursing care with a strong sense of community and personalised support. All three homes are staffed by experienced professionals committed to dignity, wellbeing and individual choice.

Our housing

Affordable housing schemes
Live independently with the comfort of community and care nearby.

BCOP offers social housing; a range of sheltered and independent housing schemes across Birmingham. They are designed for older people over 60 or individuals over 55 with disabilities. These well-maintained, purpose-built properties provide safe, comfortable living with the reassurance of emergency pull cords, and regular wellbeing checks and support, available in our sheltered schemes.

Residents benefit from private accommodation with access to landscaped gardens and a sense of community, and in our sheltered housing schemes, access to communal lounges and social activities. BCOP housing charges are inclusive of maintenance, and have easy access to local amenities. BCOP’s housing schemes offer a practical and dignified solution for those seeking independence with peace of mind.

Robert Harvey House
Son of Resident

My mother became a resident here some 3 years ago. When she was transferred here at Robert Harvey Care Home, she was close to death after experiencing poor service at her previous care home. Since then my mother has been looked after in a most professional manner from all staff irrespective of their job description. Had it not been for their excellent work my mother would not be alive and will soon be celebrating her 103rd birthday.

Neville Williams House
Wife of Resident

My husband chose to end his days in Neville Williams House as we had already had a great experience with his mother. Sadly my husband was only there for a week before his days ended. During that period he felt comfortable, supported, valued, taken care of and given an enormous amount of dignity. Of course this meant that I could share these feelings and enjoy that time with him as a devoted wife and soul mate. We shared quality time together and that will always stay with me.

Robert Harvey House
Cousin of Resident

The love and care shown to my cousin was really appreciated. We were so pleased that we chose Robert Harvey House as it has been a home from home for him, even though he was adamant he didn't want to go into a home. We chose it as we visited a friend here for many years. The manager, care staff and nurse go above and beyond to be helpful.

Anita Stone Court
Daughter of Resident

My mother was in Anita Stone Court. I found Mom's care was excellent and the staff were very good with her and family and friends that visited Mom. When Mom passed away there was extreme dignity for Mom and care and kind words for the family.
