Robert Harvey House wins ENRICH awards for excellence in care home research

21 July, 2025

We’re delighted to share that Robert Harvey House has been recognised with three prestigious national awards for its outstanding contribution to care home research through the ENRICH (Enabling Research in Care Homes) network.

These awards highlight Robert Harvey House’s commitment to improving the quality of life for older people, not just within BCOP, but across the entire care sector. The home received:

  • The outstanding support award, recognising the whole setting’s dedication to helping shape high-quality research tailored to care homes

  • The complex studies support award, for its extra commitment in supporting more challenging and ambitious research programs.

  • And the ENRICH champion award, given to individuals or teams who consistently go above and beyond expectations in enabling research

Leading this pioneering work is Anthea Reid, General manager at Robert Harvey House and BCOP’s care home lead for research. Under her guidance, the home has become a model of how meaningful research partnerships can improve practice, support staff development, and deliver better outcomes for residents.

"Being recognised by ENRICH for our outstanding contribution to research in nursing homes is an incredible honour. It reflects our commitment to driving positive change through evidence-based practice. Research is not just about studies and data—it’s about improving lives, deepening understanding, and shaping a future where every resident receives the very best care. This award celebrates the dedication of our entire team to learning, growing, and leading the way in compassionate, informed care."

At BCOP, we believe excellent care means more than meeting today's needs—it means staying at the forefront of what works. By supporting research, we ensure that the voices of our residents and staff help shape future innovations in care. We are proud to be active members of the ENRICH network, which is supported by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). You can learn more about ENRICH here: www.nihr.ac.uk/ENRICH

These awards are a testament to the skill, compassion and forward-thinking mindset of the Robert Harvey House team. Congratulations to Anthea and everyone involved in making research an integral part of everyday life at BCOP.
