Mum was only at the home for a short time but the care and compassion she received was excellent.
The food was lovely and as a family, we felt valued and listened to. Unfortunately, she was not well enough to participate in the activities on offer. At the end of her life staff ensured she maintained her dignity and that she was well presented which is something that was important to her. Staff also spent time chatting to her to support her mental health as she was anxious due to breathing difficulties. I would recommend the home.
My stepdad has been in this home since August 2022, he is very happy here and all the staff are so caring. There are plenty of activities for him to join in and they also have people to come in to entertain residents. The home is managed very well, nothing is any trouble. If you have a query it'sv sorted immediately. I am very happy with the service that is provided.
My father has been in Robert Harvey House Care Home for several months. His room is spacious and clean. He loves it here and is very happy. I can't praise the staff enough, caring, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is of a high standard and plentiful. Activities are done so everyone can join in. Beautiful gardens and outlook. The manager's door is always open and you are supported fully with any concerns, help is there whenever it is needed. I would sincerely like to thank everyone for what they do, making it such a happy place. They are outstanding in their care and compassion.
The care home is modern, clean and in a good, quiet location. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful on all occasions. Most importantly, the staff treat the residents with dignity and compassion.
Neville Williams House is a wonderful care home. My Father has been there for two and a half years. During that time my Father and our family have formed a lovely relationship with all the staff within the home, from the entertainment team, maintenance team, support staff, nursing staff, management, housekeeping and kitchen staff. Nothing is too much trouble and support is available for all of us especially when we have tough days.
Friendly care home with excellent staff who really care about the residents. Lovely gardens for the residents to use and the food quality is excellent. Residents definitely 'feel at home'.
My application was accepted in September 2022; my son visited the apartment in advance and sent me a comer video. After the upheaval of my move from Northumberland, the facilities in the apartment, in reality, came as an extraordinarily pleasant surprise. The staff and admin/managers made every effort to help me settle into this new address and local facilities so that I can now conduct an independent life and still count on their help when necessary. I'm very happy to take this opportunity to acknowledge my gratitude.
My husband has been at Neville Williams House for three and a half months. He has been treated with great kindness by the staff, as have I. They are always willing to communicate about him. I particularly appreciate the 'Portal' I can use this on my phone or iPad to see his routines, how well he is eating and drinking and even his mood - all in real-time. This is particularly reassuring on the days that I am unable to visit him.
My husband has been a resident at Neville Williams House for over 15 months, where he continues to get excellent care. He has been very settled during this time which is due to the patient, friendly care given by those who look after him and in particular those who work closely with him throughout the day and night. Our whole family appreciate the welcoming, friendly warmth shown by all staff members.
We feel a part of the home too and are very happy in the knowledge that when we walk away we are leaving my husband in safe hands.
My dad has been here for three months, and we are very happy with the care from the team. My mom, at 81, is very comfortable here and visits every day. She walks around the place as if she is a resident, and that's how the team make her feel. There are things that can always be improved, but care and compassion are paramount to us, and my dad gets that in abundance.
My wife and I are friends of a respite resident who spent two weeks recovering after her broken leg. We were her regular visitors and found all facilities second to none. Also, the staff were in the same category.
I was a resident at Robert Harvey Care Home for respite care from October 23rd to November 14th, suffering from a broken leg. On my arrival, I was warmly greeted by senior staff and carers and swiftly escorted to my room. There I was frequently visited by senior staff who were keen that my every need was seen to. The nursing staff regularly assessed me and medication was carefully monitored. Equally the caring staff were professional and caring, cheerful and helpful. I was very impressed with the care and dignified treatment the more challenging residents received. The home has a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere with lots of entertainment and activities. I highly recommend this care home.
A calm environment, the staff are very attentive and efficient but most of all genuinely caring of residents and supportive of their families. The team are well-managed in an orderly fashion. Activities were good. Residents were treated with a high level of respect. It was a most peaceful place for my wife to spend the last months of her life.
My personal experience of Neville Williams House (as a friend of a resident) over the last 2 years has been exemplary. The staff in all areas are welcoming, friendly, attentive and caring in all matters. I got to know them over 2 years and was always welcomed with a smile, which matters!. My friend received such wonderful care and attention and became a much loved resident. I would highly recommend Neville Williams House to anyone considering care home services for a family member. Real care delivered with compassion.
My father moved into the home on 1 December 2023. Sadly he only lived there for 7 weeks. My parents decided that it was the home for him within minutes of arriving to look around. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly from the outset and whenever I visited. My father was very well looked after whilst he was there and when he had to be taken to the hospital someone stayed with him until he was admitted to a ward. I cannot fault the care he received during his stay there or how we were looked after when he died.
The facilities, staff and management are of the highest standard. I have nothing but admiration for the kindness and care shown to my wife in her final days.
My Aunt was admitted to Robert Harvey House in November 2018 aged 91. She received excellent care and was nursed back to health following both Pneumonia and COVID. At all times she was treated with respect and dignity. Staff throughout the home spent time with her, they knew her as an individual and met her needs accordingly thus contributing to her contentment. After 5 plus years her final days were dealt with compassionately. Robert Harvey House is a very well-managed, friendly, welcoming environment which I would recommend without hesitation.
Mum moved to Robert Harvey House for respite care in March 2023 and never wanted to leave again. What a fabulous place! Staff were excellent - from the manager and admin team to the maintenance team, the activities team and most of all the carers. They took such good care of Mum and made her last year a very special one. Even though her health was declining (at 94 years!) she maintained a great quality of life through the way she was looked after. We never had a single day when we weren't happy to leave her in the care of her extended family at Robert Harvey House - and we were all made to feel like a part of that family too. Thank you.
I could not fault the care my brother had during the 15 months he was in the home. All the staff were considerate and understood my brother's personality. Since my brother's passing both my sister and I have been treated with kindness and consideration.
All the staff gave a warm friendly welcome, so polite and really caring and really took good care of my mother. Respect, cleanliness, comfort and support were just fantastic. The bedroom was so cosy, with plenty of room and felt like home from home. Couldn't have wished for a better place for my poorly mom to stay and knowing just how well she was looked after and cared for. A big thank you.
Having spent the last 6-8 months looking for a care home to give my sister and her husband some respite from caring for our parents, we were getting pretty desperate. There is such little provision for couples, and we saw some swanky places where staff were so anxious and over-managed and frankly not very kind to residents. Robert Harvey House was a godsend. Relaxed, kind and thorough, staff here take professional pride in their work, and residents are respected and looked after socially and psychologically as well as physically. Not only this, but you'll see how imaginatively the residents are cared for; there's a sweet shop with a freezer full of ice cream for residents to help themselves! It was the animals who really swung it as far as our parents were concerned though. Two sweet little goats, and a flock of concerned and sometimes obstreperous parrots engage with everyone on the same gentle and trusting terms. You can see how Robert Harvey House gained its CQC rating for efficacy.
Met with the General Manager to carry out a 6-month review of my Mother's stay.
I felt that the manager had a good level of awareness of Mom's challenging behaviour and was able to talk, in detail, about how this has changed over this period. The manager struck me as being in tune with her role and how that relates to residents, family, and team members alike. Throughout the manager appeared to be highly motivated and enthusiastic about what she is responsible for. I complimented her on the attention and care given to my Mother and, in particular, the positive culture that provides this.
My mother has been a resident for the past nine months. We have found Robert Harvey House to provide excellent care in a professional and compassionate manner. The standard of hygiene has been exceptionally high, and the staff, in our opinion, are well-trained, personable, and helpful. Robert Harvey House provides a number of social activities, which the residents can participate in.
I have visited on a number of occasions and always found the staff welcoming. The staff always check on the wellbeing of residents whether in their room or in the living room areas. As visitors, we are kept informed of the current status of my mother in law and she is well looked after. Keep up the good work.
