Visitors to Anita Stone Court may notice something new in the gardens — and it carries a very special meaning for everyone at BCOP.

To celebrate BCOP’s 80th anniversary, our Property Services team have created a striking landscaped “80” feature at the centre of the home’s grounds, marking this important milestone in a way that residents, families and staff can enjoy every day.
Designed and built by Darren, Ryan and Jack, the feature combines planting, stonework and careful landscaping to create a lasting tribute to the charity’s eight decades of supporting older people across Birmingham.
The project reflects more than just an anniversary number. Outdoor spaces play an important role in later life wellbeing, offering opportunities for relaxation, conversation, reminiscence and connection with nature. At Anita Stone Court, the gardens are regularly enjoyed by residents and visitors alike, particularly during the warmer months.
The new feature also highlights the dedication and creativity of BCOP’s Property Services team, whose work helps ensure our homes remain welcoming, safe and enjoyable places to live.
As BCOP continues its 80th anniversary celebrations throughout the year, projects like this serve as a reminder of the community, care and commitment that have shaped the organisation since its beginnings — and the people who continue to make that possible today.
A huge thank you once again to Darren, Ryan and Jack for creating something so thoughtful for residents and visitors to enjoy for years to come.
