We celebrate the diverse cultures of our residents and staff with food, music and activities that bring our community together. At Anita Stone Court, we believe that every culture brings something special to our home. With a diverse community of residents and staff, we enjoy coming together to share traditions, food, music and stories from around the world. These moments create joy, spark conversation and help everyone feel a sense of belonging.
This summer, our home was filled with colour and flavour as we marked Jamaican Independence Day on 6th August. Residents took part in a lively quiz about Jamaica’s history, while the dining tables were filled with traditional dishes such as jerk chicken, rice and peas, and sweet festival dumplings. The home was decorated with bright Jamaican flags, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Events like these are more than just celebrations – they are opportunities for residents to connect with one another, to share their own memories and experiences, and to learn something new. For staff, it’s also a chance to bring their own heritage into the heart of the home and invite others to celebrate alongside them.
At Anita Stone Court, we’re proud to create a community where culture is celebrated and where every resident can live life with dignity, enjoyment and meaning. From food and music to storytelling and traditions, we look forward to many more celebrations together.
