Join us at Anita Stone Court for a delightful celebration of language, culture and shared memories as we mark both English Language Day and Spanish Language Day.
This special day is all about conversation, connection and the joy of words—whether spoken, remembered or rediscovered.
Story and memory sharing
We’ll be inviting residents to take a gentle trip down memory lane, sharing stories and experiences such as:
Schooldays and learning English
Favourite books, poems and sayings
Holidays in Spain
People they have known who spoke another language
Words and phrases remembered from travel
It’s often the smallest phrases that bring back the biggest memories.
Poetry and reading corner
A cosy reading corner will be set up for residents to enjoy familiar and comforting words.
For English Language Day, we will revisit:
Simple poems and nursery rhymes
Well-loved sayings and short readings
For Spanish Language Day, we will introduce:
Short Spanish poems and phrases
Common sayings and proverbs, with English translations
A chance to enjoy the rhythm of language—whether it’s well-known or something new.
Themed Dining Experience
A themed meal will be available for this event, offering a taste of both cultures.
