Staying close to family matters at every stage of life. That’s why Robert Harvey House is trialling Famileo – a simple but rather wonderful way of keeping loved ones connected.
Famileo is a personalised monthly newspaper created entirely by family members. Using the Famileo app or website, children, grandchildren and relatives can share messages and photographs in just a few clicks. Each contribution is gathered together and printed as a colourful newspaper, delivered straight to their loved one.
At Robert Harvey House, the activities team distribute the individual printed copy newspapers to residents so they can enjoy their family news from the comfort of their own armchair – no screens, no passwords, just familiar faces and happy updates in their hands. It’s a lovely way to revisit special moments, spark conversations and preserve precious memories. For residents this can be an opportunity to share their news with the staff, talk about their loved ones and allow staff to build even closer relationships with the residents. It's even possible to produce a large font version for a more personal approach.
The connection works both ways. Families can also receive updates about life in the home, helping them feel part of everyday moments – celebrations, activities and events – especially if distance makes regular visits more difficult.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ones. A newspaper through the door may feel delightfully traditional, but the smiles it brings are as fresh as ever.
