Staff, residents, and family members were invited join in. After Cynthia Sharpe, the longest serving member of staff cut the celebration cakes, everyone tucked in to delicious cakes, sandwiches, samosas, and spring rolls brought in by staff. The afternoon was filled with lots of hugs, smiles and laughter!
“It gives me enormous pleasure to recognise the dedication and commitment shown by employees who have been with us for up to 40 years” says Pushpa Sagoo, who is the BCOP Director of Operations. “We’re celebrating six staff who have been with us 10 years, four for 15 years, three for 20 years, one for 35 years and one staff member who has been with us for an incredible 40 years! The are all great examples of how BCOP put people at the heart of everything we do.”
BCOP CEO Helen Gore, who presented the certificates, vouchers and flowers commented on the contrast between BCOP care home staff and UK social care generally, where staff turnover is typically over 30% a year. “It’s lovely to be able to show our appreciation for these special, talented people who have provided outstanding care here at Robert Harvey House for many, many years. “
Robert Harvey House staff are appreciated by the families of those in in their care. Judith Cluse and Sandra Rose wrote this week “As soon as we walked into Robert Harvey House, we knew it was the right place. You could feel the happy, friendly vive. Everyone there has been so exceptional in their care and dedication to Dennis, and we thank you and send our love to everyone”.
