At this unprecedented time of uncertainty, I would like to reassure you that the safety and welfare of your loved ones is our top priority.  Staff are working tirelessly to care for and support residents and tenants and ensure that life for them is disrupted as little as possible.  We are also providing support to our staff, to enable them to look after their own health and wellbeing during this difficult time.

While it might not be possible, or indeed appropriate, to visit all our sites in person, please be
assured that BCOP’s Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees are working hard to ensure we’re taking the necessary steps to protect our staff, residents and tenants and maintain our core systems and services including:

  • Putting in place practical measures to safeguard residents, tenants and staff across all our sites
  • Maintaining access to essential supplies and IT systems
  • Ensuring we continue to carry out emergency and essential repairs
  • Managing the flow of information and ensuring the correct information can be rapidly sent out
  • Ensuring we have the right systems in place to monitor what’s happening across all our services, and how best to respond.

We have full confidence in the Leadership and Management of the Homes to deal with any urgent situations as they arise and we have the necessary contingency plans in place.

The situation is changing rapidly and we’re acting on the latest advice from government and health officials on a daily basis, and will continue to evolve our own guidance and practices in line with that advice.

  • Please do ask – if you’re thinking it, the chances are other relatives are too.

It is often times of hardship or challenge that bring out the best in people.  BCOP has been caring for the older people of Birmingham for almost 75 years, and we continue to do our best for our residents and tenants, thanks to our hardworking, dedicated staff.  We can and will get through this time if we continue to look after one another.
